About the event

Event has two aims – to introduce students to the field of investment management and to meet female students with successful women in finance. It will take the form of a panel with 3 industry professionals, with the conversation moderated by the OFS. Event is organized in collaboration with GAIN (Girls Are Investors) and OxWif (Oxford Women in Finance). Event breakdown: Fireside chat (45min) + Q&A (15 - 20min) + Networking Session (20 - 30min) 

Panelists: 

1) Sophia Hart - Strategist at Clean Energy Transition LLP Bio: Sophia has been involved in global equity markets for over 30 years, starting her career in Australia in 1987. Prior to joining the Global Energy team in March 2018, Sophia was a Managing Director at Société Générale, heading the specialist sales team. She started working with Per Lekander at UBS in 2004 as a utilities and oil specialist sales person. Before this role, Sophia was a partner of Goldman Sachs JBWere, the Australian arm of GS where she developed her strong insight in risks associated with economics, commodities and market cycles. She holds a Bachelor of Business and Management and a Master’s of International Affairs and Commodities from Paris IX Dauphine. 

2) Joyce Qin - Private Equity Associate at Clayton Dubilier & Rice Bio: Joyce Qin is a Private Equity Associate at Clayton Dubilier & Rice in London. Previously, Joyce was an investment banking associate at Citigroup in London. Joyce studied Political Science at Boston College. 

3) Christopher Beaven, CFA - Analyst at Hosking Partners Bio: Chris is an Analyst at Hosking Partners, a London-based investment partnership focused on Global Equities. Prior to joining Hosking Partners in 2022, he worked at Wellington Management for seven years, including helping to manage a European Small Cap equity portfolio. Chris started his career at Goldman Sachs in Equity Research in 2013, having completed two internships at the bank over previous years. Chris holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation and is a member of the CFA Society. Chris graduated from University Colleague London where he read Law with French Law (LLB).
